Everything about the 2028 tournament in one place

The European Championship returns to the British Isles in the summer of 2028. Twenty-four national teams will play 51 matches between 9 June and 9 July 2028 in nine stadiums: the opening match is planned at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, the semi-finals and the final at Wembley in London. This site follows the whole journey — from the qualifying draw in Belfast on 6 December 2026, through ten qualifying matchdays and the play-offs of March 2028, to the final tournament itself. The 2028 schedule, format and qualifying explained page has the full match plan with dates and venues, the provisional draw pots and the qualifying calendar.

Built from the same data as the app

Euro Cup 28 is the website of the free app Euro Cup 2028: Scores & Stats. Every number here comes from the data files of the app: 114 national teams, 2,029 players in the current squad pools, 388 match reports from 17 editions of the European Championship and the nine host venues with photos. Nothing is invented: when a fixture is not yet known — as with the qualifying groups before the draw — the page says so.

Every European Championship since 1960

The competition began in 1960 as the European Nations' Cup with four teams in the final round; today it has 24. Across 17 editions, Spain has won the most titles (4), and the most recent title went to Spain in 2024. Each edition has its own page with groups, tables, the knockout bracket, every result with scorers, the top scorers and the stadiums. The 2024 tournament in Germany is a good place to start; the overview of every European Championship since 1960 lists all hosts, champions and finals, the titles table and the biggest wins.

National teams and players

The national team pages cover all 114 teams that have ever played at a European Championship or World Cup, from regulars to sides that no longer exist: titles, best results year by year, records at the finals, top scorers, the latest starting line-up with formation and coach, and a squad pool of up to 25 players built from recent competitive matches. Every player links to a profile with appearances, goals and fantasy price: minutes, goals, assists, shots, key passes, tackles, cards and ratings competition by competition, goals at final tournaments and the price in the fantasy game.

Two free games: score predictions and fantasy football

Watching is better with something at stake — as long as it is only points. The free exact-score game lets you predict every qualifier and every match of the finals: 3 points for the exact score, 2 for the right winner and goal difference, 1 for the right outcome. Fantasy football for national teams adds a second challenge: fifteen players, a budget of 100.0m, no more than three per country, a captain who scores double, and gameweeks that follow the international windows. Both games are free, with rankings overall, by country and with friends in private leagues — no money, no purchases, no cash prizes.

The road to 2028 in numbers

Fifty-four national associations enter the qualifiers (Russia remains suspended). They are drawn into twelve groups of four or five teams; the twelve group winners and the eight best runners-up qualify directly, two places are reserved for host nations that do not qualify on their own, and the remaining places go through play-offs in March 2028. The co-hosts England, Scotland, Wales and the Republic of Ireland play the qualifiers like everyone else. Northern Ireland, part of the joint bid, also takes part in qualifying.

Why a fan site and not just the app

A phone is perfect during a match; a big screen is better for reading a group table, comparing two squads or studying who scored in every final. The site is fast, works without installing anything and is available in English, Spanish and Russian. Your game account works in both places: sign in here with the player key from the app and your predictions follow you. Read how we collect and check the data if you want to know where every number comes from.

Below: quick facts, every edition in brief and the titles table

The sections that follow summarise each European Championship in a few lines, list the national teams with the most titles and show the next matches that are open in the score game.

How to find your way around

The menu at the top leads to the main sections: the current tournament, national teams, players, history, the two games and their rules. Every team page links to its players, every player page back to his team, every edition to its matches and every match report to the edition, both teams and the previous and next match. Breadcrumbs at the top of each page show where you are, and the language switcher keeps you on the same page in English, Spanish or Russian wherever a translation exists — player profiles and match reports are in English, because names and scores read the same in every language.

Tables are scrollable sideways on small screens, all images load only when they come into view, and the whole site is readable without JavaScript. The only parts that need a script are the live game elements: the prediction boxes, your points and the leaderboards. They load directly from the game server, so what you see there is always current, even when the rest of the page shows the data of the last build.
